NOTE:
This course has taken over two years to create. Its methodology has been used with volunteer couples and has proven to be a highly effective approach that promotes a genuine growth within relationships. Marked improvements in communication style, compassion and relating between partners was observed. The recognition of the presence of Spirit within the other drew forth an honoring of the self and other that further enhanced our couples' abilities to work together to heal their relationships.
Spiritual Relationship Counseling
You know that the development of healthy relationships through intimate partnerships, friendships and family relationships, is essential to healthy human and spiritual development. You enjoy understanding the dynamics of interactions and appreciate the difficulties couples experience within their relationships. You understand that unresolved issues come forth through relationship formation to provide an avenue of healing if viewed in this light. You believe in inviting spirituality into the healing process, and are drawn to help couples resolve their issues.
Certification as a Spiritual Relationship Counselor will help you fulfill your goals. This course provides training and education in the following areas:
- An indepth study of the dynamics of defensive and blaming behaviors
- Understanding the Spiritual and Personal Growth of Individuals and Couples
- Learning to Teach Communication Styles
- Intervention - Honoring the Self
- Intervention - Honoring the Partner
- Keeping Relationships Holy
- Working Couples Through Seven Week Healing Process as found in "Seven Acts of Faith to Heal Your Relationship."
- Healing the Past (Individual and Couple)
- Building the Future (Individual and Couple)
Students must complete the entire study program, complete three practice phone sessions and achieve a 75% on final exam. In addition, students must read 5 relationship books and write an abstract analysis of each. The book list is provided with the course guide.
In addition, all students must complete the Seven Week Workbook entitled "Letting Go of Childhood Pain," published by The Ministerial Seminary.
